As Newcastle United push for Champions League qualification, star striker Alexander Isak is finding himself at the center of transfer speculation.
The Swedish forward has been urged to consider a move to a top European club, with Arsenal and Chelsea emerging as potential destinations.
Isak has been a talisman for Newcastle this season, firing the Magpies to Carabao Cup glory and racking up an impressive 21 goals in 30 Premier League matches.
His performances have caught the attention of Europe’s elite, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool rumored to be monitoring his situation ahead of the summer transfer window.
Former Chelsea star Gus Poyet has joined the growing voices suggesting that Isak deserves a platform beyond Newcastle, citing the striker’s ability to compete at the highest level.
“With all due respect to Newcastle, Alexander Isak belongs at a higher level,” Poyet stated.
“He has the quality to thrive at a Champions League club, and I think both Arsenal and Chelsea would be excellent destinations for him.”
Poyet added that Isak’s technical ability and finishing instincts make him a perfect fit for top clubs across Europe.
“He could shine anywhere, but if Arsenal are looking for a striker or Chelsea want to bring in a proven goal scorer, Isak would be an ideal choice.”
Newcastle reportedly value Isak at £120 million, making any summer exit financially complex.
While Arsenal and Chelsea both have a need for a marquee forward, securing the Swedish striker would require significant investment and possibly player exchanges to offset costs.
With Newcastle sitting in fourth place and chasing Champions League qualification, the club will be keen to hold onto their star forward. However, should the right offer come in, Isak may find himself weighing up a career-defining move.
