Everton has announced the addition of Christopher Sarofim, an American billionaire, to its ownership group Roundhouse Capital.
Sarofim’s investment firm, Fayez Sarofim & Co, manages assets worth over $31 billion (£23bn), positioning the Toffees to explore additional funding opportunities.
While Sarofim himself holds a personal wealth exceeding $3.7bn (£2.7bn), his investment is directed into Roundhouse rather than directly into Everton. The club continues to seek further financial backing as it prepares for the opening of its new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Everton’s statement welcomed Sarofim’s extensive experience in investment, fund management, and philanthropy, noting that his involvement would strengthen the club’s financial foundation.
He will serve as a Board Observer, while the club remains under the control of The Friedkin Group.
Sarofim expressed enthusiasm for the role, emphasizing his admiration for the Friedkin family and his desire to help Everton realize its full potential.
Dan Friedkin, Chairman and CEO of The Friedkin Group, praised Sarofim’s expertise as valuable in driving the club forward.
Everton, currently 13th in the Premier League face Chelsea this weekend as they look to finish the season on a stable footing.
