FUFA 3rd Vice President Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi has extended her appreciation to fans, sponsors, and participating clubs as the semi-finals for the 51st edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup are set to begin.
“I wish to thank the fans, sponsors, and teams that started with 369 entrants to now four semi-finalists. I also thank the Government of Uganda for supporting the idea of the FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim in the construction of the FUFA-owned stadium, Kadiba,” Nakiwala stated during the draw held last Monday April 28th.
The semi-final first legs will be played on Saturday 3rd May and Sunday 4th May 2025.
Vipers will host defending champions Kitara at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Saturday, while KCCA will face Kataka at the MTN Omondi Stadium on Sunday.
This year’s competition saw an initial field of 369 clubs from across the country, reflecting the depth and reach of Ugandan football.
The tournament has been played annually since 1971 and continues to serve as a vital platform for talent discovery and competitive club football.
The final is set for Kadiba Stadium, a new FUFA-owned facility that has been earmarked as a training ground for CHAN 2025 and AFCON 2027.
