As the 2025 USSSA National Boys Football Championship approaches, officials from the Ministry of Education and Sports have called on schools and participants to uphold the integrity of the games.
The tournament, slated to run from May 4 at Ngora High School, will feature 64 schools competing across 16 groups.
Grace Abalo, the Senior Education Officer at the Ministry of Education and Sports, made the remarks during the official draw ceremony held ahead of the competition.
While congratulating the qualified schools, she emphasized the values of discipline, fairness, and unity.
“I want to congratulate everyone who made it to the national level,” Abalo said. “Sports is something that unites us all, so let’s protect its integrity.”
Her statement comes at a time when school competitions are increasingly viewed not just as sporting events, but as platforms for education, character development, and national cohesion.
The Ministry, through USSSA, continues to support these events as part of the broader co-curricular calendar in Uganda’s secondary education system.
With fixtures now confirmed and the spotlight shifting to Ngora District, the Ministry’s message stands as a reminder of the responsibilities that come with national representation.
