The UEFA Champions League trophy has returned to Kenya for the first time since 2012, accompanied by German legend Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The trophy’s three-day tour, a Heineken-Uefa initiative, follows visits to Vietnam, Indonesia, South Africa, and Zambia.
Schweinsteiger, a Champions League winner with Bayern Munich, arrived on Thursday and presented the trophy to President William Ruto on Friday.
Kenyan fans had a chance to see and photograph the trophy during a public display on Saturday afternoon.
This visit marks a significant moment for Kenyan football, rekindling memories of McDonald Mariga’s 2010 Champions League win.
