Mohamed Salah has been voted the Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year after a stellar season where his 33 goals and 23 assists led Liverpool to their first Premier League title since 2020, matching Manchester United’s record of 20 league wins.
Salah earned nearly 90% of votes, beating teammate Van Dijk, Newcastle’s Isak, and Arsenal’s Rice.
This is his third FWA award (2018, 2022), joining Thierry Henry as a three-time winner.
His 28 Premier League goals and 18 assists placed him third for most goal contributions in a season, just one behind the record.
