KCCA delivered a dominant 5-0 victory over Wakiso Giants FC at MTN Omondi Stadium on Saturday evening, condemning the visitors to relegation from the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Ashraf Mugume opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 20th minute after he was brought down in the area.
The midfielder stepped up to convert the spot kick, giving the hosts a deserved lead following an early wave of pressure.
Wakiso struggled to contain KCCA’s attacking rhythm and were fortunate to go into the break trailing by just one goal. However, three minutes into the second half, Joao Gabriel doubled the lead, heading in Mugume’s accurate cross.
With Wakiso reduced to ten men in the 65th minute after Ambrose Arinda received a second yellow card, KCCA FC took full advantage of their numerical superiority. Umar Lutalo made it 3-0 with a powerful strike from the edge of the box in the 75th minute.
Substitutes Sammy Ssebaduka and Bright Anukani combined shortly after to add a fourth, before Anukani turned provider a minute later, setting up Yian Gatbel to round off the scoring.
The result confirms Wakiso Giants’ relegation to the FUFA Big League ahead of the 2025/26 season. KCCA FC, meanwhile, climb to 44 points with two matches remaining in the season.
The 13-time league champions will host Lugazi in their final home game of the season on Wednesday, May 14.
