Vivo Energy Uganda Injects UGX 50 Million into FMU Motocross Events

Vivo Energy Uganda has announced a UGX 50 million sponsorship package to support the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU)’s motocross activities.

The announcement was made at the Shell Muyenga Service Station on Thursday, 15th May 2025, marking a significant investment in the growing sport of motocross in Uganda.

The sponsorship, which is part of Vivo Energy Uganda’s broader community development strategy, aims to bolster the infrastructure, safety, and competitiveness of motocross, particularly among young Ugandan athletes.

The funds will go towards providing critical racing supplies, including Shell Advance lubricants and Shell V-Power fuel, and scrutineering services through Motorcare Express points at designated Shell service stations.

Safety is a central component of the partnership. FMU marshals will receive safety reflectors, track safety tape, and branded equipment to enhance the overall safety and professionalism of motocross events.

Additionally, part of the sponsorship will support grassroots talent development and improvements to event facilities.

“This partnership is a strategic investment in performance, potential, and national pride,” said Joanita Menya Mukasa, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda.

“Motorsport thrives on quality performance, precision, endurance, and ambition—values that define both our business and Uganda’s young athletes. We are proud to stand behind the motocross community,” she added.

FMU Deputy Vice President for Motocross, Arthur Blick, welcomed the support, saying, “This sponsorship could not have come at a better time. Motocross is growing fast, especially among young people. Vivo Energy Uganda’s support is not only timely, it is transformational.”

The sponsorship will be activated at several upcoming FMU events, including MX4 in Lira Omito, MX5 and MX8 in Garuga, and MX7 in Fort Portal.
