MTN Uganda and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) have joined forces to honour the accounting profession during a special edition of the MTN Monthly Tee held at Entebbe Golf Club.
Themed “Next Gen Accountants Edition”, the event has brought together professionals from the finance, business, and sports sectors under the banner “Together, our Compliance is Unstoppable.”
The May Monthly Tee celebrates the pivotal role of accountants in upholding financial integrity, transparency, and innovation within Uganda’s growing digital economy.
MTN Uganda’s Chief Financial Officer, Andrew Bugembe, who is also the host of the event, paid tribute to the accounting fraternity, stating:
“Accountants are the silent guardians of financial transparency and business sustainability. As MTN, we believe that when compliance meets innovation, we unlock real progress. That’s what makes our partnership with ICPAU so timely and relevant.”
Bugembe also noted that MTN’s investments in digital technologies and AI rely on robust financial systems backed by skilled professionals.
Representing ICPAU, Vice President CPA Ronald Mutumba urged stakeholders to appreciate and utilise the expertise of certified accountants, highlighting their role in upholding public trust and national compliance.
“Membership of the national Professional Accountancy Organisation is key to reinforcing compliance with national laws and achieving career growth,” said Mutumba.
He also applauded MTN Uganda for promoting wellness and social engagement among professionals through sport.
“Physical well-being is a critical part of a member’s professional development,” he added.
