The JT Jaguars will be aiming to cap off the first round of the National Basketball League on a high note when they take on the UCU Canons tonight at YMCA Wandegeya.
Coached by veteran tactician Sudi Ulanga, the Jaguars have enjoyed a solid start to the season, winning seven of their ten games.
With a well-balanced squad that blends experience and youth, the Kira-based side has built a formidable roster in recent seasons. Key contributors this campaign include captain Victor Bwana, guards Mark Were and Ian Lubwama, and seasoned forwards Fadhil Chuma and Peter Sifuma.
The Jaguars will be facing a UCU Canons side riding high after a statement 79-62 win over defending champions City Oilers last weekend. The Canons are eyeing their seventh win of the season.
UCU’s recent form has been fueled by improved efficiency from guard Lwabaga Ibanda, Ekirapa Okurut, and the experienced Joel Kayiira. The Mukono-based side heads into the fixture with a fully fit squad.
Assistant coach Emmanuel Kiguyi expressed confidence in his team’s preparations: “I think ours has been a team effort. We have a bunch of guys that take turns at dominating games and that’s a good thing. We have a lot of depth and competition within the team. I think we are heading in the right direction.”
