Makerere University Women’s Football Club dominated the April edition of the FUFA Women’s Super League monthly awards, taking home both the Player and Coach of the Month accolades in a show of strength for the university side.
Head coach Fred Ndawula was named Coach of the Month after guiding Makerere to two important victories from three games.
His tactical approach and consistency on the touchline saw him edge past Kampala Queens’ Asefa Firew Hailegebreal and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC’s Ayub Khalifah.
Star forward Zainah Namulime claimed the Player of the Month award after a prolific run in front of goal, scoring six times in three matches.
Her sharp form in April helped Makerere climb the table and saw her beat out Namanda Jesca of She Corporate and Agnes Nabukenya from Kawempe.
In the FUFA Women Elite League, St Noah Girls’ head coach Jimmy Kintu was recognized for his impressive run, securing three wins in four matches. Victories over Asubo Ladies FC, coached by Kamya Swaleh, and Collins Ahumuza’s UCU Ladies Cardinals further solidified his credentials.
Akol Faith of Goldstars High School Ladies earned the Player of the Month title in the Elite League with a standout performance, scoring seven goals across just two appearances. She finished ahead of Ayoo Miriam (Asubo Gafford) and Belinda Hope Nabawanuka (Kawempe Muslims SS) in the final tally.
