Uganda men’s Lacrosse national team defender Tej Gadhavi has won a second consecutive NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Championship with Tufts University, adding another major milestone to his rising career.

Gadhavi played a pivotal role in Tufts’ dominant 25-8 win over Dickinson College in the championship game held on Sunday, May 25, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The victory not only marked back-to-back national titles for Tufts but also the program’s fifth NCAA championship overall. The final score set a new record for the most goals scored in a Division III title match.

Gadhavi’s latest success on the American college stage is seen as a major boost for Uganda Lacrosse, which is eyeing qualification for the 2027 World Lacrosse Championship in Tokyo, Japan.

“We are proud of lacrosse players reaching these milestones because they also acquire the much needed experience which will enable the team to play and qualify for the next world championship games in 2027 in Tokyo, Japan,” said Liberty Twesiime, president of the Uganda Lacrosse Association.

Gadhavi, who has steadily developed through both the Ugandan national system and the U.S. college circuit, continues to raise the profile of Ugandan lacrosse internationally.

The 2025 NCAA tournament began on May 7 and concluded with the title game at Gillette Stadium, home to the NFL’s New England Patriots, offering a grand stage for Gadhavi’s latest triumph.
