Star forward Sadio Mané will miss Senegal’s June friendlies against Ireland and England after requesting to be excused, coach Pape Thiaw confirmed on Tuesday.
Thiaw respected Mané’s “personal decision,” noting the 33-year-old recently faced criticism for his March World Cup qualifier performances.
The 26-man squad features newcomer Mamadou Lamine Camara and welcomes back seven players, including Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye.
Senegal plays Ireland on June 6 in Dublin and England on June 10 in Nottingham.
