Kizza Confident of Uganda Premier League Return

Former KCCA left-back Mustafa Kizza is confident of returning to the Uganda Premier League next season as he looks to reignite his football career.

The 25-year-old is currently without a club following a short-lived stint at Egyptian side Telecom FC, a move that did not go as planned.

Kizza had joined Telecom after parting ways with Express FC earlier this year, but he has since walked away from the North African club.

Speaking on NBS Sport’s “Sport This Morning” show on Thursday, Kizza opened up about his brief time in Egypt and what lies ahead.

“Telecom FC has got to be the most unprofessional team I have ever played for,” he said.

“A lot happened there, but I am grateful that it is all settled now and I am looking forward to playing again.”

Kizza admitted he considered a return to Express upon his return to Uganda but felt it was too late in the season to make an impact.

“When I returned from Egypt, I could have gone back to Express, but I felt like the season had already moved on with only a few games left to play.”

Looking ahead, he made his intentions clear.

“One thing is for sure, I will first play in the Uganda Premier League for the next few seasons and then see what the future will bring.”

While a return to Express remain on the table, Kizza is also being linked with a move back to KCCA or even NEC.

Another potential destination could be Vipers SC, who had shown interest in the past, an offer he previously turned down.

Kizza, widely regarded as the best left-back of his generation in Uganda, boasts a solid résumé that includes stints with MLS side CF Montréal and Portuguese club Arouca.

Still only 25, Kizza has plenty of football ahead of him and will be a valuable addition to any Uganda Premier League side looking to strengthen its backline.
