Ukrainian boxing legend Vasiliy Lomachenko, celebrated for his exceptional skill, has announced his retirement at 37.
Lomachenko’s illustrious career included two Olympic gold medals (2008, 2012) and an amateur record of 396-1.
Turning pro in 2013, he quickly became a three-weight world champion in just 12 bouts.
In an emotional social media message, Lomachenko expressed gratitude, reflecting on his journey.
He retires with an 18-3 professional record, having claimed the vacant IBF lightweight title in his final fight in May 2024.
Lomachenko credited his father and trainer, Anatoly, for shaping both his boxing and personal life.
Renowned for his footwork and speed, Lomachenko is widely considered one of his generation’s most technically gifted fighters.
