World number one Aryna Sabalenka has reached her first French Open final, defeating four-time champion Iga Swiatek 7-6 (7-1) 4-6 6-0 in a thrilling semi-final.
This victory snaps Swiatek’s 26-match winning streak at Roland Garros.
Sabalenka will now face second seed Coco Gauff in Saturday’s championship match.
Gauff secured her spot by comfortably beating French wildcard Lois Boisson 6-1 6-2, ending Boisson’s remarkable run.
Sabalenka, a three-time hard-court Grand Slam champion, expressed her excitement, saying, “It feels incredible, but the job is not done yet.”
