The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Board has unanimously appointed Harriet Okach as its new Chairperson, effective immediately.
Ms. Okach steps into the leadership role following the resignation of Chairman Alexander “Sasha” Mutai on May 30th. She will serve the remainder of the current term.
Ms. Okach brings a wealth of experience to the position, having joined the KRU Board in 2023 with the highest number of votes.
Prior to this, she served as Honorary Treasurer of Kisumu RFC and most recently as Director of Marketing and Commercial for the KRU, driving visibility and partnerships.
Beyond rugby, Ms. Okach is a respected entrepreneur and communications strategist with over 15 years of experience.
She also represents Kenya in World Rugby’s Impact Beyond 2025 project, leading “Unstoppable Rugby for Change” to combat gender-based violence and promote girl-child education through rugby.
“I’m humbled to be entrusted with this position… Sports unites, so please let’s all come together in growing this game that we all love,” said Okach.
