Lewis Hamilton has strongly defended Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur, calling him “the person to take us to the top” despite Ferrari’s difficult start to the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, Hamilton, 40, dismissed Italian media reports about Vasseur’s potential replacement as “nonsense.”
He emphasized his strong relationship with Vasseur, stating, “Fred’s the main reason I’m in this team… I want Fred here.”
Ferrari has secured only three podiums this year, with Hamilton struggling to match teammate Charles Leclerc’s pace.
Despite his own recent struggles, including a “worst race” in Spain, Hamilton expressed full support for Vasseur, stressing that embedding new personnel “takes time to adjust.”
He affirmed his long-term commitment to Ferrari and Vasseur’s leadership, aiming to win with the team.
