Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s heroic 35-point effort fueled a stunning Oklahoma City Thunder comeback, as they defeated the Indiana Pacers 111-104 to tie the NBA Finals at 2-2.
Trailing by seven points entering the fourth quarter, the Thunder dominated the final period 31-17, closing with a decisive 12-1 run.
Gilgeous-Alexander, the league’s MVP, scored 15 of the Thunder’s final 16 points, hitting all 10 of his free throws.
“I didn’t want to go down not swinging,” said Gilgeous-Alexander. Jalen Williams added 27 points and Alex Caruso chipped in 20 off the bench.
Pascal Siakam led the Pacers with 20 points, with Tyrese Haliburton adding 18. Siakam lamented, “We just didn’t execute at the end of the game.”
Game 5 shifts to Oklahoma City on Monday.
