Crystal Palace have officially signed Argentine goalkeeper Walter Benitez on a free transfer from PSV Eindhoven.
The 32-year-old will join the Eagles at Selhurst Park on July 1st after his PSV contract expires.
Benitez was a key player for PSV last season, starting every league game as they won the Eredivisie title and featuring prominently in their Champions League run to the last 16. He earned his first cap for Argentina in March 2024.
Palace Chairman Steve Parish welcomed the signing, stating that Benitez will bring “further quality, experience and competition” to the goalkeeping department, which includes current first-choice Dean Henderson and Remi Matthews.
The move aims to bolster the squad as Palace prepares for what promises to be a busy 2025-26 season, potentially competing on multiple fronts.
