Vipers SC head coach Fred Muhumuza has lavished praise onto his versed left-back Derrick Ndahiro, hailing him as one of the greatest players he has ever worked with.
The tactician reserved special admiration for the defender’s intelligence, versatility, and leadership qualities.
“Ndahiro is the greatest player I’ve ever coached,” Muhumuza said. “He’s a very intelligent player, and will understand something with just one tap.”
“He’s a leader and plays with both feet.” The glowing remarks underline the growing influence of the Uganda Cranes international at Vipers.
Ndahiro, who joined the Venoms from Rwanda Police FC, has grown into a key figure for the Kitende-based side. Known for his solid defensive work and attacking runs down the flank, the left-back has been instrumental in the club’s recent performances as they won last season’s domestic domestic double.

His ability to play with both feet has given Vipers more tactical flexibility, allowing the team to switch formations and approaches mid-game.
Muhumuza believes this rare quality makes him an even more valuable asset in high-pressure matches. Notably, against KCCA FC in the Uganda Premier League (second round), he was accommodated in midfield, and passed the test with flying colors.
Beyond his technical abilities, the 27-year-old has emerged as a leader in the dressing room. His calm demeanor and work ethic have earned him the respect of both teammates and coaches.
