Kawempe Muslim Win Appeal Over Controversial FUFA Women’s Cup Quarterfinal Exit

The 2025 FUFA Women’s Cup will crown a brand-new champion this Saturday as Amus College WFC and Kawempe Muslim LFC square off in a high-stakes final at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

Kick-off is at 3 PM, with FUFA offering free entry to all fans to encourage support for women’s football.

Both sides are chasing history. Neither team has lifted the Women’s Cup before, and with five different winners in the competition’s five editions since 2017, this sixth final continues a tradition of fresh champions and shifting power dynamics in Uganda’s women’s football.

Amus College have been the surprise package of the tournament.

The Soroti-based outfit knocked out 2023 champions Uganda Martyrs Lubaga in the semifinals, following earlier wins over Isra Soccer Academy, Wakiso Hill WFC, and a walkover against Asubo Ladies. Rising star Opisa Shalyne has been key to their fairytale run.

Kawempe Muslim, long seen as a powerhouse in league football, have finally reached their first Women’s Cup final.

They overcame Makerere University, defending champions She Corporate FC, and St Noa Girls SS on their way to Lugogo.

Forward Agnes Nabukenya’s stunning strike in the semis sealed their path to the final.
