Manchester United’s latest attempt to sign Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has been rebuffed, with a £62.5 million bid rejected by the Bees.
This improved offer, consisting of £55 million up front and £7.5 million in add-ons, marks United’s second failed attempt this month.
Brentford is reportedly holding out for a fee at least matching the £62.5 million they received for Matheus Cunha.
Mbeumo, who scored a career-high 20 goals last season, has also attracted interest from Tottenham and other Champions League clubs.
The 25-year-old is expected to miss about four weeks of the upcoming season due to the Africa Cup of Nations, where he’ll represent Cameroon.
Mbeumo has been a key player for Brentford since joining in 2019, scoring 70 goals in 242 appearances and helping the club achieve promotion to the Premier League in 2021.
