Uganda Sends 8 Young Riders to France for Junior Motocross World Championship

The National Council of Sports (NCS), in partnership with the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU), has officially flagged off Team Uganda for the 2025 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship set for July 5–6 in Romagné, France.

The annual global championship brings together the world’s best young motocross riders to compete in three engine classes — 65cc, 85cc, and 125cc — giving them a platform to showcase their talent, gain international exposure, and take their first steps toward professional racing.

This year, Uganda will be represented by a team of eight promising riders:

  • Dan Mitima and Jerome Junior Mubiru will race in the 125cc category
  • Adam Kabuye, Isaac Mutima, Jonathan Semakula Katende, and Miguel Katende will compete in the 85cc class
  • Ethan Paul Musede and Jamairah Makumbi are set to take on the 65cc category

The event is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious youth motocross competitions in the world.

Beyond the high-level competition, it offers a unique opportunity for young riders to grow their confidence, learn from international peers, and forge friendships across borders.

Uganda’s continued participation in this championship signals the steady growth of motocross back home. For the riders, it’s more than just a competition — it’s a chance to carry the national flag, test their limits, and open doors to future careers in motorsport.
