Women’s National Basketball League leaders JT Lady Jaguars have confirmed the signing of Malian centre Bai Sangare, in a move aimed at boosting their title ambitions.
The announcement was made on Monday, June 30, via the club’s official website, with the Kira-based outfit expressing excitement about their latest acquisition from Ivorian side GSPM.
“Get ready, fans, because she brings a fresh wave of talent, energy, and determination to the court,” the club stated.
“She’s known for her tenacious ability to score and rebound on both ends of the floor, something we are definitely excited about.”
Sangare’s arrival comes at a crucial time for the Lady Jaguars, who currently top the regular season standings with 32 points from 18 games, boasting 14 wins and just four losses.
Head coach Sudi Ulanga believes Sangare will make an instant impact, both on and off the court.
“She embodies the spirit of our team – hardworking, passionate, and committed to excellence. I’m confident our fans will love watching her play,” Ulanga said.
The Malian centre is expected to strengthen the Lady Jaguars’ presence in the paint, a key area as they prepare for a potential deep playoff run.
Known for her physicality, defensive intensity, and ability to finish at the rim, Sangare is widely regarded as a game-changer.
Her addition to an already solid roster underlines the Lady Jaguars’ determination to win their maiden National Basketball League title, and fans will be eager to see how quickly she integrates into the team.
