As Uganda counts down to hosting the Rugby Africa Cup, energy drink brand Rock Boom has thrown its weight behind the national effort, calling its partnership with the Uganda Rugby Union “a match made in heaven.”
Speaking during a lively breakfast meeting on Tuesday morning on NBS Television, Samuel Hooper, the Head of Marketing of Hariss International Limited — the makers of Rock Boom — said their support for the sport reflects a deeper alignment of values.
“This sponsorship is more than branding,” Hooper said. “It’s about resilience, persistence, and a shared drive for excellence. If Rock Boom was a sport, it would be rugby. We all have the same vision — winning together as a team.”
With Uganda preparing to host the continent’s top rugby nations, Hooper framed the moment as a turning point for the country’s youth.
Over half of Uganda’s population is under 17, and he believes the tournament can light a fire in the next generation.
“Uganda hosting the Rugby Africa Cup is more than just a sport. It’s a platform to shape future champions,” he said.
Hooper also praised NBS Sport, the official broadcaster of the tournament, for bringing the action to screens across the country and giving young fans front-row access to world-class rugby.
