Everton have secured key defender Jarrad Branthwaite with a new long-term contract, keeping him at the club until 2030.
The announcement puts an end to speculation linking the highly-rated Englishman with Premier League giants like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur.
The 23-year-old expressed his excitement, stating, “I’m over the moon. The trust the club’s put in me… has made it quite an easy decision for me to stay and to keep progressing as a player.”
Since his 2020 move from Carlisle United, Branthwaite has become a defensive mainstay, forming a strong partnership with James Tarkowski and making 86 appearances.
He was also named the Club’s Players’ Player of the Season for 2023-24.
Branthwaite is eager to be part of Everton’s new era, including their upcoming move to the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
“Moving to the new stadium together… is something we’re all looking forward to,” he added.
Everton, who finished 13th last season, begin their new campaign on August 18th against Leeds United.
