Over 150 golfers are expected to take part in the second edition of the Hima Open, scheduled for 10 to 12 July at Tooro Golf Club, with a strong focus on strengthening community engagement.
The annual tournament will feature subsidiary and amateur players competing across men’s, ladies’, and seniors’ categories. His Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru IV will grace the event as chief guest.

Tooro Golf Club captain Robert Mugabe emphasized the club’s role in national development: “We have a responsibility to keep producing the best players for the country since many of the best have come from this club.”
“We’re strengthening our identity as Tooro Golf Club, based in the tourism city, and we welcome everyone to come and enjoy the game,” Mugabe added.
Hima Cement brand manager Joan Kitawona said the event aligns with the company’s values: “This is our home and community. We want to build strong bonds with the golf community and boost our visibility.”
Last year, Joseph Cwinyaai and Peace Kabasweka claimed the top honors in the men’s and ladies’ categories respectively.
