Newly promoted Calvary have announced Joel Gadafi as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer, stepping into the role just weeks before the team makes its Uganda Premier League debut.
Gadafi joins the Yumbe-based side at a crucial moment, with the club preparing for its first-ever season in Uganda’s top flight after clinching promotion by topping the 2024/25 FUFA Big League.
According to the club, Gadafi brings a strong background in sports marketing and media, skills that will be key as Calvary looks to build a solid foundation off the pitch to match its growing ambitions on it.
“His leadership will be instrumental in strengthening our operations, building strategic partnerships, and driving the club’s long-term vision,” the statement read.
Calvary’s management says the appointment reflects their commitment to becoming a professional and competitive force in Ugandan football.
With the UPL season fast approaching, Gadafi is expected to oversee preparations including commercial planning, branding, and community engagement.
This marks a new chapter for the club, which only just secured promotion with a 1-0 win over Paidha Black Angels on the final day of the Big League campaign.
With momentum on their side and new leadership in place, Calvary appears determined to make a strong impression in their maiden top-tier season.
