Uganda will now fight for 7th place at the 2025 Rugby Africa Cup after falling 24-12 to Morocco in Sunday’s placement semifinal at Namboole Stadium.
Playing in front of their home crowd, the Rugby Cranes were hoping to bounce back from a narrow 31-24 loss to Kenya but couldn’t find enough rhythm against a physically organized Moroccan side.
The North Africans got off to a fast start, scoring twice in the first 15 minutes.
Uganda struggled to break through and went into halftime trailing 14-0.
The second half saw Morocco add another try before Uganda finally hit back through Philip Wokorach in the 63rd minute.
Though Morocco scored again, Wokorach responded with his second try of the day in the 76th minute and added the conversion, but it was too late for a comeback.
The final whistle confirmed a 24-12 defeat, pushing Uganda into the 7th Place Final against Ivory Coast.
