Day 3 of the USSSA Ball Games II Lacrosse Championship delivered major twists in Tororo, with defending girls’ champions Nabisunsa Girls School suffering their first defeat, and Empower International Academy putting on a commanding show in the boys’ category.
At Tororo Parents Primary School, Muzza High School stunned Nabisunsa with a thrilling 12–9 victory, throwing the girls’ competition wide open.
Nabisunsa had looked untouchable through the first two days, but Muzza flipped the script with a fast, physical performance that left the title holders scrambling.
Bombo Army Secondary School, however, stayed rock solid, dismantling Mt. St. Mary’s College Namagunga 14–5 to remain unbeaten and extend their title charge.
Their attacking combinations once again proved unstoppable, with their midfield line dictating the tempo throughout.
In the afternoon fixture, Namagunga bounced back with a hard-fought 6–2 win over Kigezi High School, keeping their semifinal hopes alive after back-to-back defeats earlier in the tournament.
Over in the boys’ contest, Empower International Academy stamped their authority with a powerful 10–2 win over Bombo Army Secondary School.
From the opening faceoff, Empower dominated possession, created high-quality chances, and never let Bombo settle into the game.
As the national tournament inches closer to its final rounds, the Day 3 results have added a layer of suspense to the race for FEASSA qualification. With one more round of group matches to go, it’s all still to play for in Tororo.
