Burkina Faso’s A’ national team, the Stallions A’, have begun an intensive training camp in Morocco, a strategic shift from Cameroon, to prepare for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024).
The move to the Mohamed VI Sports Complex highlights head coach Issa Balboné’s ambition for continental success.
The Stallions A’ played the first of two crucial friendlies against the Moroccan A’ team on Saturday, July 19, a key test for Balboné’s 25-man squad ahead of their CHAN 2024 opener on August 2 against hosts Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
Balboné is using these matches to refine tactics and team cohesion. Burkina Faso is in a challenging Group B alongside Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, and the Central African Republic.
The squad, a mix of experienced and emerging domestic talent, aims for tactical flexibility and resilience.
This camp is critical for Balboné to build confidence and a strong team identity before their CHAN debut.
The team will conclude their Moroccan camp just days before heading to Dar es Salaam.
