URA Tie Down Key Man Lubwama Through 2027

Joshua Letti Lubwama has extended his contract with URA for another two years, committing to the club until 2027 in a deal that reinforces the Tax Collectors’ defensive core ahead of the new season.

Lubwama, who joined from Wakiso Giants in January 2023, has grown into one of URA’s most reliable performers.

Nicknamed “the tallest Muganda” in the dressing room, the 6’4” utility man has been key to the club’s stability, offering tactical flexibility as both a centre-back and a holding midfielder.

He featured in 28 matches last season, starting 26 of them and playing a total of 2,281 minutes. His stats speak volumes—813 completed passes, 101 aerial duels won, and 44 successful ground duels—highlighting his dominance in both phases of play.

“I feel proud and honoured to continue with URA,” Lubwama told the club media after putting pen to paper. “This club gave me the platform to grow, and I’m fully committed to giving my all every time I step on the pitch. The belief from the coaches, my teammates, and the fans means everything.”

His renewal is a boost for head coach Alex Isabirye as the team builds for the 2025/26 campaign. URA have been focused on retaining key contributors, and Lubwama’s commitment ensures continuity in a backline that showed real promise last term.

Beyond his numbers, Lubwama brings discipline, leadership, and calm under pressure—qualities URA will rely on as they chase silverware in the upcoming season.
