Monaco’s new signings, Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati, will miss the start of the Ligue 1 season as they are still weeks away from full training.
Coach Adi Hütter confirmed the news, stating the club is prioritizing the players’ long-term fitness rather than rushing them back into action.
Pogba, returning after an 18-month doping ban, and Fati, whose career has been hampered by injuries, are both on a specialized program.
They will miss Monaco’s final pre-season friendlies and the season opener on August 16.
Hütter stressed the need for caution, stating it “doesn’t make sense” to rush them back only for them to get injured again.
