Tottenham Hotspur midfielder James Maddison suffered what head coach Thomas Frank called a “bad” injury during a pre-season friendly against Newcastle.
The former Leicester City playmaker, 28, was stretchered off in the final minutes of the 1-1 draw in Seoul.
Frank expressed concern that the injury may be to the same knee Maddison injured last season.
The match, which saw Spurs’ Brennan Johnson score and Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes equalize, also marked an emotional farewell for teammate Son Heung-min, who was visibly upset by the incident.
