The Human Resource Managers Association of Uganda (HRMAU) has officially launched the third edition of its annual sports gala, aiming to promote employee wellbeing and workplace cohesion through a day of sports and team spirit.
Set to take place on August 23 at the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Sports Grounds, the event will bring together hundreds of HR professionals under the theme “Healthy People, Productive Workplaces.”
The gala will feature a mix of competitive and fun activities including football, netball, volleyball, athletics, Zumba, chess, and team-building games.
According to HRMAU, the event isn’t just about scoring goals or crossing finish lines, but about encouraging fitness, fostering teamwork, and strengthening professional ties within the HR community.
A blood donation drive will also run alongside the sports competitions, with HRMAU members and the general public encouraged to participate in saving lives.
Over 400 HR practitioners from across the country have already signed up, with four teams confirmed to compete for trophies, bragging rights, and a chance to be crowned champions of this year’s edition.
