NBS Sport will broadcast the second round of the Nile Special National Rugby 7s series live from Gulu City this weekend.
The Gulu 7s, which follow last weekend’s Kabaka Coronation 7s, will be played at Pece War Memorial Stadium from August 9 to 10.
Coverage of the two-day event will begin at 8:30 am on Saturday on NBS Sport 2 via the AfroMobile app.
From midday to 4 pm, action will run simultaneously on both NBS Sport and NBS Sport 2, before switching exclusively to latter from 4:30 pm until 6 pm.
On Sunday, the broadcast will resume on both channels at noon and continue until the awards ceremony is concluded.
This is the second consecutive weekend NBS Sport is televising the series, underlining its growing commitment to rugby. The draw for the pools was conducted live on the channel this Tuesday.
In the women’s category, defending champions Thunderbirds headline Pool A alongside 2023 title rivals Avengers, Nile Rapids, and invitational side Kitgum Queens.
Pool B pits Walukuba Titans against She Wolves, Black Pearls, and hosts Gulu Sprinters.
The men’s tournament has drawn wide interest following the arrival of four northern invitational teams: Black Arrows, Lira Big Boys, Lira Bulls, and Kitgum Lions.
Pool A features Walukuba Barbarians, Pirates, Gulu City Falcons, and Black Arrows. Defending champions Heathens are grouped with KOBs, Eagles, and Lira Big Boys in Pool B.
The Barbarians, fresh from winning the Kabaka Coronation 7s, are looking to build on their strong start.
In the women’s competition, the Thunderbirds remain the team to beat. With four of the top eight try scorers in their squad, they are determined to defend the Gulu 7s crown, powered by their standout players.
