Manchester United have completed the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko in a £73.7m deal, with the 22-year-old signing a five-year contract.
Sesko is the third major attacking signing for United this summer, following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
The Slovenia international was also a target for Newcastle, but chose to join Ruben Amorim’s side.
Speaking about the move, Sesko said, “The history of Manchester United is obviously very special but what really excites me is the future.” United head coach Amorim added, “He has the characteristics that we needed.”
The transfer, however, puts the future of striker Rasmus Hojlund in doubt.
The 22-year-old is reportedly available for £30m, with AC Milan interested.
