All Premier League matches this weekend will observe a moment of silence in memory of Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva, who tragically died in a car crash last month.
Players across the league will wear black armbands, and stadium big screens will display messages and images honoring the former Liverpool and Wolves forward and his brother.
Jota, 28, and Silva, 25, were killed in a car accident in northern Spain.
A previous tribute was held during the Community Shield match between Liverpool and Crystal Palace, where wreaths were laid at Wembley.
However, a minute’s silence was cut short after boos from a section of fans, an interruption Liverpool manager Arne Slot attributed to accidental behavior.
Both Liverpool and Wolves have also announced plans for separate tributes during their respective Premier League openers this weekend against Bournemouth and Manchester City.
