A ‘Stressful Summer’ for Newcastle, but Howe Remains ‘Excited’

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe has called his summer “stressful,” citing major challenges including the absence of a CEO and sporting director, and the ongoing saga surrounding star striker Alexander Isak.

Isak, who has been training separately from the team, is reportedly determined to join Liverpool after a rejected £110 million bid. Howe admits this has created a “huge gap” and a “negativity” around the club.

With the season opener approaching, Howe will have to find a way to manage without Isak, potentially starting winger Anthony Gordon up front.

Despite the turmoil, the club has made recent progress in the transfer market, securing defender Malick Thiaw and nearing a deal for midfielder Jacob Ramsey.

Howe remains hopeful for more additions to the squad, particularly to fill the void at center-forward left by Callum Wilson.

Howe is channeling his recent success and personal motivation to stay positive. He described the Carabao Cup final victory as a feeling that makes him “hungrier for more.”

Drawing strength from the memory of his late mother and the support of his family, Howe is determined to make the upcoming season another one to remember.

He insists he is the right person for the job because he is excited by the challenge ahead.
