In a new episode of “The Wayne Rooney Show,” former England and Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney shared his thoughts on several major football transfers.
Rooney suggested that it’s becoming “very difficult” for Alexander Isak to stay at Newcastle.
The club recently rejected a £110 million bid from Liverpool, but Rooney believes that due to financial fair play, a sale could be beneficial for Newcastle.
For Isak, joining the Premier League champions is a “huge” opportunity. Rooney also recounted his own experience with angry fans during a transfer saga, where supporters turned up outside his house.
Rooney also praised some of this summer’s new signings. He called Manchester United’s new striker Benjamin Sesko a “top” player with all the right attributes and gave his approval of Arsenal’s acquisition of Viktor Gyokeres, predicting the hard-working striker will become a fan favorite.
On the subject of Jack Grealish’s loan move to Everton, Rooney said it’s a “great signing for both” the player and the club. He also revealed that Grealish chose the number 18 shirt in honor of Rooney and Paul Gascoigne.
