Uganda Cranes skipper Khalid Aucho has joined Tanzanian outfit Singida Black Stars FC on a two-year employment contract, following his departure from Young Africans SC.
The move extends his stay in Tanzania, as he has traded in the country with Young Africans for the last four campaigns. He joins Singida to bolster their midfield, ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup exploits.
Aucho departed Young Africans after a glittering spell that yielded four Tanzanian Premier League titles, three FA Cups, and 137 competitive appearances since his arrival in 2021.
The 31-year-old midfielder, valued at around €125,000, carries an impressive CV with previous stints at El-Makasa (Egypt), East Bengal (India), Red Star Belgrade (Serbia), Baroka FC (South Africa) and Kirinya Jinja SS (Uganda).
Internationally, he remains one of Uganda’s most dependable figures, with 74 caps and two goals since his 2013 debut. He captained the Cranes during qualification for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
