URA Football Club have pulled off a major coup with the signing of one of Uganda’s most feared forwards, Nelson Senkatuka from Soltilo Bright Stars.
The lethal attacker, who has built a reputation for tormenting defenses with his speed, strength, and clinical edge, joins the Tax Collectors to add fresh firepower to their frontline.
Though his natural role is leading the line, Senkatuka’s ability to operate across the attack makes him a versatile weapon for coach Alex Isabirye.
The gaffer was full of praise for his new recruit: “We are delighted to bring Nelson on board. He is a powerful and experienced player who will give us a new dimension in our attack. What stands out just as much as his mentality, intelligence and ambition as a player, is the way he has worked hard throughout his career to get to where he is today.”
Senkatuka has already started training with the squad as preparations intensify for the upcoming FUFA Super 8 Tournament.
His career path reflects his pedigree. After early spells with Hope FC and Proline, he made his name at Soltilo Bright Stars before lifting the 2016 Uganda Premier League title with KCCA FC. His exploits also took him beyond Ugandan borders with Moroccan outfit Moghreb Athletico Tetouan in the Botola Pro League.
For the national team, the 31-year-old has worn the Uganda Cranes jersey 17 times. He has featured in two CHAN tournaments, two CECAFA campaigns, a COSAFA Cup outing, and was part of the 2015 CECAFA-winning team in Ethiopia.
