BUL have added youthful spark to their forward line after sealing the signature of 18-year-old striker Lawrence Kambugu on a two-year contract.
The youngster, who made headlines in the FUFA Big League with Ntugasaze, arrives in Jinja after a breakout campaign where he finished as the division’s top scorer with 15 goals. Before his exploits in the second tier, Kambugu honed his craft at Rays of Grace Academy and even had a brief stint in the Uganda Premier League with Gaddafi.
Speaking after putting pen to paper, the highly-rated attacker couldn’t hide his excitement:
“I thank God and BUL FC for the opportunity. I am here to help this club meet its targets. It is a big team with a winning mentality, and I love winning, too.”
Head coach Abbey Kikomeko welcomed his new recruit, stressing the need for more options in attack.
“We struggled with scoring goals last season, mostly in the first round. We opted to widen our striking line, thus adding Lawrence to our attacking depth. We believe he is a good addition to the team. As the technical team, we are here to help him shine in the Uganda Premier League.”
