Jack Grealish is a player reborn. On a season-long loan from Manchester City, the 29-year-old has gone from a benchwarmer to Everton’s key man in just three games.
After a standout performance with two assists in a 3-2 victory over Wolves, he became the first Everton player to assist two or more goals in consecutive Premier League matches.
His return to top form has been a major boost for Everton, but it wasn’t enough to earn him a spot in England’s latest squad for World Cup qualifiers.
England boss Thomas Tuchel explained that while Grealish is a “big player,” others were chosen for his position.
“He is even better than I thought,” said Everton manager David Moyes, praising Grealish’s mentality and work rate. “He is making a big difference.”
Having already tallied four assists this season, Grealish has equaled his total from the past two Premier League seasons combined.
The question now is whether his remarkable comeback can continue and force him back into Tuchel’s plans for the World Cup next summer.
