World number one Jannik Sinner, the defending US Open champion, has surged into the quarter-finals after a ruthless 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 victory over Alexander Bublik.
The match, which lasted only 81 minutes, prompted Bublik to label Sinner an “artificial intelligence” player due to his flawless performance.
Sinner, who has already won the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year, extended his hard-court Grand Slam winning streak to 25 matches.
He will now face fellow Italian Lorenzo Musetti in the quarter-finals.
In other news from the tournament, American Amanda Anisimova also advanced, defeating Beatriz Haddad Maia in straight sets.
She will next play Iga Swiatek, whom she lost to in the Wimbledon final.
