Uganda Premier League side NEC have made a bold move in the transfer market, securing the services of veteran defensive midfielder Siraje Sentamu.
The club announced the signing on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, via their official social media platforms. “We are thrilled to announce the signing of Siraje Ssentamu,” the statement read.
Sentamu joins NEC from Vipers SC, agreeing to a two-year contract that will keep him at the Bugolobi-based side until 2027.
His arrival brings a wealth of experience to the midfield, which NEC hopes will be instrumental as they gear up for their inaugural appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup—a historic step that underscores the club’s growing ambitions on the continental stage.
The 30-year-old, who has also previously played for URA FC, boasts an impressive trophy cabinet, having claimed six Uganda Premier League titles alongside three Uganda Cups.
With his leadership and championship experience, Sentamu is expected to be a key figure in NEC’s pursuit of domestic and continental success.
