Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush is a doubt for Sunday’s derby against Manchester United after suffering a knee injury on international duty with Egypt.
The 26-year-old, a £59m signing from Eintracht Frankfurt in January, was forced off just nine minutes into Egypt’s World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso.
Marmoush has since returned to England and will undergo a full assessment by City’s medical staff.
The injury is a major concern for the club, as Marmoush has started their last two Premier League matches and has scored eight goals in 28 appearances.
