Uganda Cranes defender Bevis Mugabi was on target as Carlisle United beat Aldershot Town 2-0 at Brunton Park to secure their third straight win in the Enterprise National League.
Mugabi struck in the 69th minute, firing low into the bottom corner after finding space from a corner.
It was his first goal for the club since joining, and it sealed the result after Regan Linney had opened the scoring early in the second half.
The 29-year-old, who has been a regular in the Cranes backline, showed his aerial presence and composure in front of goal, delighting the home fans.
Carlisle head coach Mark Hughes praised the defender’s impact, noting his importance at both ends of the pitch.
Mugabi’s goal capped off a strong defensive display as United kept another clean sheet, with keeper Gabe Breeze making key saves to deny Aldershot.
The win keeps Carlisle in the top three as they continue their push for promotion.
