Kampala’s Lugogo Arena roared on Sunday night as KAVC Men’s Volleyball Club sealed a dramatic home triumph, beating Kenya’s Equity Volleyball Club to win the 27th NSSF KAVC International Championship.
The hosts fed off a lively crowd to clinch the crown in a finale that kept fans on their feet.
The three-day tournament drew 46 teams from six countries, turning Lugogo into a regional volleyball hub.
In the women’s final, Rwanda’s APRW Volleyball Club staged a stunning comeback to dethrone defending champions Rwanda Police Volleyball Club, underlining the depth of competition.
Uganda Olympic Committee president Donald Rukare hailed the event as a marker of how far the sport has come.
“The growth of volleyball is undeniable. Fans are starting to love the game, and events like this prove that Uganda can stand tall on the regional stage,” he said.
